Luxury Longreach & Winton

This 4 night luxury glamping package can be designed to include all private transfers throughout or as a self-drive option.  We have included our favourite experiences in Longreach & Winton with the option to swap in other activities if desired.  This package connects with daily QantasLink flights from Brisbane to Longreach.

DAY 1 – Longreach (D)

You will be met on arrival at Longreach Airport by your host for a private transfer to Mitchell Grass Retreat. Check-into your spacious eco-friendly tent with gorgeous ensuite and private deck, then perhaps take a swim in the sparkling saltwater pool. Late afternoon, transfer to the Light & Sound Show experience at Qantas Founders Museum. Prepare for 20 minutes of awesomeness as you stand surrounded by historic aircraft doubling as the canvas for this amazing high-tech show. Return to Mitchell Grass Retreat to relax on your private deck with an included wine & cheese platter.  Enjoy a self-cook gourmet BBQ on your private deck then gather around the fire pit for marshmallow toasting and starwatching. DAY 2 – Longreach (B,D)

Wake to a locally sourced gourmet breakfast basket (delivered to your tent) and expansive views of the Mitchell Grass Plains from your private deck. Transfer to the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame for the authentic Outback Stockman’s Live Show** and to explore the interactive galleries that tell the story of Australia’s outback legends. Next, transfer the short distance to Qantas Founders Museum for a behind-the-scenes Airpark Tour featuring theDouglas DC-3, Lockheed Super Constellation, Boeing 707, and Boeing 747 aircraft.  Tonight you will be transferred to the Thomson River for the award-winning Drover’s Sunset Cruise followed by the entertaining Smithy’s Outback Dinner & Show.  **Outback Stockman’s Show does not operate on Fridays.

DAY 3 – Winton (B,L,D)

Enjoy a relaxed morning and breakfast before checking out of your luxury glamping tent. Your host from Rangelands Outback Camp will greet you this morning for a private transfer to Winton. Enjoy some free time to visit the Waltzing Matilda Centre and follow the Opal Walk, ending at the unique Royal Open Air Theatre Museum. Transfer to Rangelands Outback Camp, located on a spectacular mesa (ridge) on Rangelands Station, a working cattle property 10km from Winton. Check into your super-sized luxury ensuite tent and relax. Late afternoon, join fellow guests on the expansive Sunset Deck with panoramic views of the surrounding ‘dinosaur country.’ Indulge with cocktails and canapes before savouring a chef-prepared three-course dinner. DAY 4 – Winton (B,L,D)

Start the day with an early breakfast then transfer the 15-minute-drive into downtown Winton. Join Savannah Guide Enterprise, Red Dirt Tours on a half day tour to the Australian Age of Dinosaurs, home to the largest collection ofAustralian dinosaur bones in the world. Hear how dinosaur bones from 90-95 million years ago are being unearthed from what is now called ‘dinosaur country.’ The Ultimate Dinosaur Tour, delivered by passionate ‘Dino Enthusiasts’at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum includes the working Laboratory, Collection Room, Dinosaur Canyon, and March of the Titanosaurs. Return to Rangelands Outback Camp for free time to relax and take in the magnificent, natural environment. Early afternoon, join a guided walking tour of the ancient Rangelands Rifts then gather once again on the Sunset Deck for cocktails before another magnificent chef-prepared dinner.

DAY 5 – Onward Travel (B)

Enjoy your last gourmet breakfast at Rangelands Outback Camp before joining the Rangelands driver for your return transfer to Longreach and your connecting flight home.
