DAY 1 & DAY 2 – Cairns to Gilberton Outback Retreat

DAY 3 & DAY 4 – Gilberton Outback Retreat to Rangelands Outback Camp
Following a delicious breakfast and farewell from your Gilberton Outback Retreat host, rejoin your private helicopter tour for an exciting day flying south-west to Winton. Soaring over the magnificent Gregory Range and its stunning gorges, you’ll witness the raw beauty of Queensland’s Outback. See dramatic changes in landscape from ancient geological formations to vast plains as your make your way to the landing pad at Rangelands Outback Camp.
Rangelands Outback Camp is located atop a magnificent mesa on a working cattle property just a 15-minutes’ drive from Winton. This luxury tented camp operates ‘off grid’ and has been purposely designed for minimum impact on the surrounding environment. Each of the six luxury tents are powered by their own solar panels with a backup generator. Guests are pampered with sumptuous king-sized beds, ensuites with a view and luxury trappings. They enjoy a lavish menu of chefprepared meals, fine wines and premium beers. The hub of the camp, ‘The Mahal’, features an expansive communal sunset viewing deck, guest dining and lounge area.
While staying at Rangelands Outback Camp, you may select from a range of tours and activities to include a half day tour to the Australian Age of Dinosaurs, home to the largest collection of Australian dinosaur fossils. DAY 5 – Rangelands Outback Camp to Cairns via Cobbold Gorge
Wake to your last sunrise and breakfast from Rangeland’s spectacular mesa before rejoining your pilot for today’s adventure flight back to Cairns. You’ll fly north-east to Outback Queensland’s hidden gem, Cobbold Gorge – best known for its narrow waterways flanked by towering 30-metre sandstone cliffs. You’ll cruise aboard custom-designed electric boats through the gorge’s tranquil waters. Keep a look out for local wildlife, including freshwater crocodiles. Your 3-hour Cobbold Gorge Tour also includes crossing Australia’s first fully glass bridge. Lunch will be own arrangements at the onsite bar and bistro.
As you take to the skies for your return flight from Cobbold Gorge to Cairns, you’ll be treated to awe-inspiring aerial views of ancient lava tubes, remnants of volcanic activity that have shaped this unique landscape.
