An enthusiastic group of Central West Tourism operators participated in the last month’s ‘What’s Your Story – Storytelling Workshop. The workshop was developed as part of the Central West OQTA Tourism Development Action Plan. The purpose of this workshop was to assist operators to reinvigorate and develop stories to attract new and repeat visitor markets. The interactive workshop activities allowed operators to explore and build on themes which aligned with the themes identified in the Outback Queensland Tourism Opportunity Plan.
The Central West Outback operators have banded together and are cooperatively marketing their products through Infinity Holidays. For the first time Outback Queensland has a depth of product for a global wholesaler to work with. With Tourism and Events Queensland support, these outback products are featured over 4 pages in the 2014/15 Infinity Holidays Brisbane & Sunshine Coast brochure which now states “featuring Outback Queensland.” It’s a great start to getting greater exposure for the Outback to new markets. Again for the first time the Outback Queensland operators participated in the Queensland on Tour trade show in Auckland, NZ. This has been a fantastic result from the CWOQTA Tourism Development Action Plan. View brochure.
